In september 2016, daniel kahl (Merced Farming's Business Manager) was awarded a Nuffield scholarship for 2017.

Nuffield Australia awards Scholarships each year to farmers in Australia giving them the opportunity to study farming practices in countries all around the world. They also promote a closer understanding between farmers in the countries visited. Upon returning to Australia it is expected that Scholars will be able to actively spread the knowledge and understanding they have gained among their fellow farmers and others. For their Scholarship, Scholars choose a topic of interest to study while abroad and then present their findings in a report and to the Nuffield Australia Conference the following year.

Daniel's 2017 Nuffield Scholarship was supported by Cotton Australia and the Cotton Research and Development Corporation and through his scholarship he investigated where the next generation of farm managers will come from and how quality candidates can be attracted to a career in farming. On this page you will find blog posts and other info from Daniel's travels and research over the course of his scholarship.
